# What You’ll Need:

01 - 1.1 lbs pork shoulder or pork stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
→ Vegetables
02 - 1 medium head green cabbage (about 1.5 lbs), cored and chopped
→ Aromatics
03 - 1 large yellow onion, diced
→ Pantry
04 - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
05 - 14 oz canned crushed tomatoes or tomato passata
→ Seasoning
06 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
# Directions:
01 - Warm vegetable oil in a large heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat.
02 - Add pork cubes and brown evenly on all sides, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
03 - Add diced onion and cook, stirring, until softened, about 3 to 4 minutes.
04 - Stir in chopped cabbage and cook, stirring occasionally, until slightly wilted, around 5 minutes.
05 - Pour in crushed tomatoes, season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
06 - Reduce heat to low, cover pot, and simmer gently for 45 to 50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pork is tender and cabbage is soft and sweet.
07 - Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, optionally accompanied by crusty bread or boiled potatoes.
