# What You’ll Need:
→ Cookie Dough
01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
03 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1 large egg
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - Pinch of salt
→ Decoration
07 - 3/4 cup powdered sugar
08 - 2 to 3 tablespoons lemon juice or water
09 - Food coloring (optional)
10 - Decorative ribbons for tying
# Directions:
01 - In a bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
02 - Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly until fully incorporated.
03 - Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing gently just until the dough starts to come together.
04 - Shape the dough into a disk, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
05 - Set the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
06 - On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to approximately 1/5 inch thickness. Use heart and star cookie cutters to cut shapes, creating a small hole near the top of each for ribbon threading.
07 - Transfer the shapes to the baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn golden.
08 - Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
09 - Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice or water to form a smooth, spreadable glaze. Add food coloring if desired.
10 - Apply the glaze to the cooled cookies and let it set fully.
11 - Once dry, thread decorative ribbons through the holes and tie into bows.
