# Directions:
01 - In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
02 - Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract into the mixture, blending thoroughly.
03 - Sift together the all-purpose flour and salt, then gradually stir into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
04 - Shape the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
05 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
06 - Roll the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of 1/4 inch. Use a boot-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
